PROHIBITION ORDER AGAINST SELANGOR SMART AGRO, CHANGKAT MENTERI, SABAK BERNAM, SELANGOR
The Department of Environment (DOE) referred to a media statement by the Selangor Agricultural Development Corporation (PKPS) entitled “Feedback on the Food Security Hub Development Objection at Selangor Smart Agro Park, Changkat Menteri, Sabak Bernam, Selangor Darul Ehsan” on 8 April 2021 stating that PKPS has conducted an Early Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) Report on the land for the proposed opening of an oil palm plantation area.
Based on DOE records, no EIA report was submitted by PKPS to DOE as required by Section 34A (6), Environmental Quality Act, 1974. Terms of Reference (TOR) EIA report for proposed Oil Palm Plantation Development in the entire PKPS Land Area in PT 4293, Mukim Sungai Panjang, Sabak Bernam District, Selangor was received by the DOE on 5 December 2019, however the TOR report was not confirmed on 29 January 2020.
