Noise emission from motor vehicles is controlled under the Environmental Quality (Motor Vehicle Noise) Regulations 1987. Enforcement operations to control noise emission from motorcycles were carried out by state DOE offices in collaboration with the Royal Malaysia Police (Traffic Branch).
