EiMAS's Library

EiMAS’s Library is a special library for Department of Environment. It provides all collections related to the environment which is publish in Malaysia and from overseas. EiMAS’s Library officially had started its operation in year 2002. The function of the library is to fulfill the users who are attending any courses in EiMAS. Besides that, it also plays an important role to give valuable information to EiMAS’s staffs.

As a training institute, EiMAS is equipped with the associated training facilities and an office consisting of :

    * Auditorium (200 capasity)
    * 2 training rooms
    * Laboratory
    * 3 discussion rooms
    * Office space and support facilities
    * Cafeteria
    * 45 residential rooms
    * Mini gimnasium
    * Tennis, basketball, sepak takraw, volleyball, table tennis court and indoor game

Program Khas EiMAS

Isu-isu alam sekitar telah menjadi semakin kompleks. Kita telah menyaksikan kemunculan beberapa isu-isu yang menganggu dalam aspek kehidupan dan negara kita. Penggunaan urustadbir alam sekitar adalah sangat mustahak bagi mengatasi isu-isu alam sekitar seperti penurunan kualiti alam sekitar akibat pencemaran dan pembangunan yang tidak terancang. Tugas sebagai urustadbir alam sekitar adalah mencabar yang melibatkan stakeholders daripada pelbagai lapisan masyarakat, pihak swasta dan pertubuhan-pertubuhan bukan kerajaan dan boleh dikatakan keseluruhan masyarakat.

Program Latihan EiMAS

Program latihan yang dikendalikan di EiMAS merangkumi sebahagian besarnya kursus-kursus dalam perkhidmatan dan kursus pengenalan untuk pegawai-pegawai baru yang bertujuan untuk meningkatkan kecekapan dan kompetensi kakitangan tentang kerja mereka serta mendedahkan pegawai-pegawai baru kepada aspek etika dalam perkhidmatan awam, bidang tugas dan tanggungjawab Alam Sekitar.

MTCP

The history of the Malaysian Technical Cooperation Programme (MTCP) dates as far back as the First Commonwealth Heads of States (CHOGM) Meeting in Sydney in February 1978, where the idea was first conceived.  The MTCP was officially launched on 7 September, 1980 at the Commonwealth Heads of State Meeting in New Delhi, India, to signify Malaysia’s commitment to South-South cooperation, in particular Technical Cooperation among Developing Countries (TCDC).

EiMAS Objectives

EiMAS is established with the following objectives :

   1. To enhance manpower resource development programme for environmental management;
   2. To develop and intensify capasity building in the field of environmental protection; and
  3. To implement programme and activities that will promote the application of cleaner production technologies and best industrial environmental management practices.

EiMAS Background

EiMAS Background
EiMAS occupies an area of about 10 acres and it is located within the campus of the Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM), Bangi, Selangor. Agreement to construct EiMAS in UKM Campus was concluded with the signing of the memorandum of understanding between the Department of Environment (DOE) and UKM on 30th July 1996.
