Announcement Requirement On Competent Person To Supervise The Operation Of Industrial Effluent Treatment Systems

The new regulation on industrial water pollution control, that is Industrial Effluent Regulations, 2009 which replaces the Sewage and Industrial Effluents Regulations, 1979, requires the industries to have a competent person to supervise the operation of their industrial effluent treatment systems (IETSs). Therefore the requirement on competent person is now a legal requirement.
The industries are advised to send their IETS personnel to the Environment Institute of Malaysia (EiMAS) to attend the course on Certified Environmental Personnel in the Operation of Industrial Effluent Treatment Systems (CePIETSO).
